Practice Guidelines

Practice guidelines are developed by the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba to help occupational therapists meet ACOTRO's Essential Competencies of Practice for Occupational Therapists in Canada by:

  • increasing members' knowledge of their responsibilities,
  • describing expectations for practice,
  • defining safe, ethical, competent practice, and
  • guiding critical thinking for everyday practice.

Presently, COTM has four guidelines:

  1. Occupational Therapy Consultation to Third Parties
  2. Client Records in Occupational Therapy Practice
  3. Assignment and Supervision in Occupational Therapy Practice
  4. Informed Consent in Occupational Therapy Practice
